Americans Trample One Another To Get Their Hands On Cheap Foreign-Made Plastic Crap The American Dream November 30, 2010 As this latest Black Friday clearly demonstrated, Americans are literally willing to trample one another to get the best deals on cheap foreign-made plastic crap. Meanwhile, as thousands of factories and millions of jobs continue to get shipped overseas, the United States is rapidly turning into a post-industrial wasteland. Once great manufacturing cities such as Camden, New Jersey have become crime-ridden, gang-infested hellholes. In some US cities, the “real” unemployment rate is around 30 or 40 percent. The American people desperately need jobs, but the American people are also showing no signs that they plan to give up their addiction to cheap foreign goods. Our politicians keep insisting that the American people just need “more education” and “more skills” in order to compete, but they don’t ever seem to explain how more education and more skills are going to make new jobs pop into existence out of thin air. The truth is that the American Dream is rapidly becoming the American Nightmare and there is not much hope that any of this is going to turn around any time soon. Proponents of outsourcing point to all the cheap goods filling our stores as a good thing, but they never tell us about all the good paying American jobs that have been lost. Sacrificing our industrial base for cheap foreign-made plastic crap is kind of like throwing your furniture

George Harrison Got My Mind Set On You (2009 Stereo Remaster)

Join the official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook! www.facebook.com A cover version by former Beatle George Harrison from his album Cloud Nine reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1988. Produced by Harrison and former ELO member Jeff Lynne, the song was his third and last solo US number one, after “My Sweet Lord” in 1970 and “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)” in 1973. It was also the last number one single, to date, by any of the solo Beatles in the United States. As Harrison’s third post-Beatles #1 hit in the US, he broke a three-way tie among himself, John Lennon and Ringo Starr as ex-Beatles with two #1 solo singles, and moved Harrison into second place behind Paul McCartney’s nine #1 songs. Of Harrison’s three number one singles in the US, it was the only song not written by Harrison and the only one without religious overtones. The single’s B-side is “Lay His Head”, written by Harrison. The 12″ version of the single also adds an extended version of “Got My Mind Set On You”. Two music videos were released for the cover version. The first (directed by Gary Weis) starred a young Alexis Denisof vying for the heart of a girl in an arcade.[1] The second (also directed by Weis), is Harrison sitting and playing in a study. As the song progresses, furniture and knick-knacks (like a stuffed squirrel and mounted warthog) begin to dance along with the song. In the middle of the video, Harrison’s stunt double performs a stunning backflip from his chair and follows

Advice For Buying Your First Sofa

0

Posted by admin | Posted in Furniture & Decor | Posted on 21-03-2011

Perhaps you are moving out of your parent’s home, or from furnished rented accommodation to your very first property.  It happens to us all, and when it does an important decision to make is the first sofa you buy.

There are many considerations, and the importance of each depends of course on your own preferences.  These include durability, ease of cleaning (particularly important if you have children or pets), price and of course style.

The first thing you should do is measure the area where the sofa will go.  Don’t be tempted to buy something too big, because, even if it would fit, a large sofa could make a small room feel even more cramped, ruining the ambience.

Sofas are available at a vast difference in both price and quality and it really is a good tip to buy the best sofa you can afford.  Think about the length of time you will be sitting on it and then consider how long you will have the sofa for: skimping on quality is really not a good idea if you can help it.

Don’t just choose a sofa from a picture; visit a showroom and actually try it.  There is no better way to know if a sofa is comfortable for you.  Don’t be rushed into a decision by salesmen; take your time to try relaxing on the sofa and then always go home and picture the sofa you like in your own room before committing to it.  The colour might look great in the showroom but would not match the rest of your lounge.

Remember to shop around; just because there is a sale on it doesn’t mean that shop is the cheapest.  You might find the same sofa cheaper somewhere else, or online (if it’s the same as the one you have tried out in store) and be relieved you took the time to check.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves – The Invent-Off (1)

Here’s the eighth stage of WarioWare: Smooth Moves, “The Invent-Off.” The focus is on Penny, the granddaughter of Dr. Crygor. She’s inherited her grandpa’s massive intellect, but not his cynicism. Anyway, when I said I had an announcement to make, I meant for it to be in this video. There is now another fire spreading through the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles county. It’s known as the Sayre Fire, and while my family’s home isn’t in the path of the fire, the firefighters are having a rough time with it. The winds are still strong, and the firefighters had to abandon a trailer park and let it burn to the ground. Hundreds of homes have been burned, and many more in the cities of Montecito and San Luis Obispo elsewhere in California, all of them wind-related. About 120 miles of the US Route 101 highway has been shut down, and Governor Arnold has declared a state of emergency. Don’t be too alarmed though–this is a part of Californian life. It’s not all sunshine and earthquakes. Back to the matter, Penny’s stage is the last one in the game to introduce new stances, at least under normal circumstances. (There’s still Orbulon up ahead and his three variations on “The Diner,” but that’s a separate part of the story.) This time, you can play sitting down, which is good for me because of the architecture and furniture placement of the room I’m in. The Boxer has you gripping the Wii Remote, palm down, the Remote itself parallel with the sensor bar. The Finger Food means the Wii

Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace Road, SW1A 1AA Official residence of Queen Elizabeth II. *There is only one problem with this video. On some of the scenes, the text would not stay up long enough to read. I tried to fix it but it didnt work so you may need to pause it to read the text before moving on. Sorry about this, next time I will try harder to fix this small problem* England’s most famous royal palace, and the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II, opens the doors of its State Rooms to the public every summer. Originally acquired by King George III for his wife Queen Charlotte, Buckingham Palace was increasingly known as the ‘Queen’s House’ and 14 of George III’s children were born there. On his accession to the throne, George IV decided to convert the house into a palace and employed John Nash to help him extend the building. Queen Victoria was the first sovereign to live in Buckingham Palace (from 1837). The State Rooms are now still used by the Royal Family to receive and entertain guests on State and ceremonial occasions. Visitors can admire some of the more unusual gifts received by the current Queen, including drawings by Salvador Dali, an embroidered silk scarf from Nelson Mandela and a grove of maple trees. Decorated in lavish fashion, the rooms include paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Canaletto, Vermeer and Poussin, sculpture by Canova, exquisite examples of Sevres porcelain, and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world. Eva Cassidy – Fields Of Gold Lyrics

Eva cassidy “Fields of gold” Eva Cassidy was the third of four children born to Hugh and Barbara Cassidy. From an early age, she displayed artistic and musical talent. When she was nine years old, her father taught her to play the guitar, and she began to play and sing at family gatherings. While a student at Bowie High School, she sang with a local band called Stonehenge, and received considerable praise. At the age of eighteen, Cassidy began her professional career, singing and playing guitar in a Washington, DC, area band, called Easy Street. This band performed in a variety of styles, at weddings, corporate parties, and pubs. During the summer of 1983, Cassidy sang and played guitar, six days per week, at Wild World, in Maryland. Her brother Dan was also a member of this working band. Throughout the 1980s, Cassidy worked with a number of other bands, including the soul and Motown-oriented band The Honeybees, and the techno-pop band Characters Without Names, later called Method Actor. During this period, Cassidy also worked as a propagator at a plant nursery and as a furniture painter in Annapolis, Maryland. In 1986, she met (bassist and recording engineer) Chris Biondo, who encouraged her and helped her find work as a backup singer for various acts. In 1990, Biondo and Cassidy hired the so-called “Eva Cassidy Band”, composed of Chris Biondo, Lenny Williams, Keith Grimes and Raice McLeod, and she began to perform frequently in the Washington area. In 1992, Biondo
